Launch of PYROCLEAR™, a wireless fire-resistant glass

Comparison of PYROCLEAR™ and wired glass

Japanese law required the use of wired glass to counter the risk of fires spreading through openings in buildings, but this was said to create an oppressive appearance. In response to this problem, the company developed and launched PYROCLEAR™, a wireless fire-resistant glass in September, 1995. Having undergone special edge treatment and an ultra-toughening process, PYROCLEAR™ wireless fire-resistant glass offers bright open spaces that are also safe. In the same month, the company launched PYROSTOP, fire-resistant glass imported from Germany's biggest glassmaker, Flachglas. This multilayer glass, which insulates against heat by foaming, is used in locations where it is necessary to provide a reliable barrier against heat in the event of a fire.
