Renovation of Osaka head office

Osaka head office after the renovation

Since the Osaka head office, built in 1961, was starting to show signs of ageing, the company decided to carry out a full renovation to mark its 75th anniversary in 1993. Renovations were completed in January of that year. For the renovation, the cutting-edge SSG (Structural Sealant Glazing) method using glass curtain walls was selected, with the frameless glass creating a beautiful flat appearance. The building also made use of many of the company’s advanced products, such as the high-efficiency heat-reflecting glass REFSHINE™ and MULTILITE™ double glazing. In addition, the ground floor featured a music hall with an optimum acoustic space, which was opened to the general public as a place of recreation and relaxation.
