United L-N Glass was founded in 1986 as the second American production base for the company. It consisted of a full-scale Automotive OEM factory established with LOF on a fifty-fifty basis, in order to supply safety glass to Japanese car makers. The factory was built on a roughly 40-acre site in Versailles, Kentucky, and began production in October 1987. The safety glass and tempered glass produced at the factory was not only supplied to carmakers in the US, but also exported to various companies in Japan. It now supplies high-quality automotive glass as Pilkington North America, Inc. using NSG Group's cutting-edge APBL (Advanced Press Bend Lamination) technology in a full production line, together with a new PVB Expander to support the latest HUD (Head-Up Display) products.
