L-N Safety Glass established in Mexico

L-N Safety Glass SA de CV

In the 1980s, friction over automobile trade between Japan and the US escalated. Earlier, in February 1975, our company had entered into a joint venture with Libbey-Owens-Ford (LOF) to form L-N Safety Glass SA de CV (LNS) in Mexico, and was already producing glass for Automotive Glass Replacement (AGR). This was a way of anticipating the globalization of the automotive industry and adapting to it as quickly as possible. While LNS began by producing replacement windshields, it improved its manufacturing techniques and, in 1983, also began producing OE (Original Equipment). From there, the company increased its OE production, later supplying Japanese carmakers that had expanded to the US.
