Fumio Nakamura Named President

In 1942, the Company’s Yokkaichi plant was placed under the military control for production of polished plate glass and the Company was designated as a munitions company the following year under the Munitions Companies Act. As the law stipulated that the president would be in charge of manufacturing, the Company named Fumio Nakamura, managing director although it was not the way Sumitomo governed its group companies.
