The production of the self-cleaning glass Pilkington Activ™ started in Weiherhammer as its first and only European production site.
By June 2003, Pilkington Activ™, the world's first dual-action self-cleaning glass, had been successfully rolled-out to consumers throughout Europe in the largest new product launch program ever staged by Pilkington.
