The first Environmental Report, published in 2001

NSG Group has implemented many initiatives to save energy and protect the environment while providing many products to help reduce environmental impact. In December 1997, the Nippon Sheet Glass Environmental Policy was created to demonstrate the company’s commitment to preserving the environment. One of the goals of this policy was to achieve zero emissions of waste at every domestic plant by the end of 2006.
In December 2002, the Kyoto Plant became the first to achieve zero waste emissions in the flat glass industry, followed by the plants in Chiba and Yokkaichi Plant followed suit in 2004. By the end of March 2005, all of the ten plants in Japan achieved zero waste emission.
