Installation of a computer system

Shortly after the completion of the headquarters building in 1961, NSG set up a new computer division to streamline clerical work and installed a UNIVAC 120 computer by Sperry-Rand for production planning, shipments and inventory planning as well as sales operations. The use of computers in business was not common in Japan at that time and NSG attracted a fair amount of media coverage and visitors from government agencies and other companies.
