Introduction of template glass molding

Template glass molding

In 1932, the Company succeeded in continuous production of opaque template glass molding with the Colburn process. Because the company used a grooved roll in the Colburn process, the sheet glass had a striped pattern. Inspired by this “molding,” the Company expanded its product lineup with 8 and 10 mm transparent template glass that was cheaper than imports. The striped glass became popular as they were bright and appropriately blocked the line of sight.
