Plants opened abroad that included Splintex (Belgium), SIVESA (Spain), SIV (UK), Sicover (France) and the Frese Group (Germany). There were also new factories in Italy - Settimo Torinese for the production of encapsulated glass and a float plant in Porto Marghera.
