Companhia Santa Lúcia Cristais Ltda.
Santa Lúcia Cristais Ltda. was founded in São Paulo in 1951, by French banker Louis Dreyfus who wanted to expand existing tempered glass production in Argentina to Brazil.
Installed in Bom Retiro district, the company started operations in the middle of that year. All the equipment available was comprised of a small flat furnace, two or three grinding machines, some racks and tables used as cutting tables. In the factory, almost 70 workers managed to produce on average 1.300 square meters of tempered glass per month. Almost all production aimed at Ford and General Motors carmakers.
